In 2011, community donors, Joan & Lawrence Altman, joined forces with the Aspen Community Foundation to start the Mental Health Fund. It was established with the mission to provide financial assistance for individuals and families living in the Roaring Fork Valley and surrounding rural area (Aspen to Parachute) who find themselves struggling to cope with a mental health or substance abuse problem and cannot afford to pay for treatment at full cost.
In the last four years, Aspen Strong’s Hike Hope Heal has raised over $70,000 to support the Mental Health Fund ~ providing over 800 hours of mental health treatment to our valley. To learn more about how this fund has supported our community CLICK HERE.
