Memory Reconsolidation and Roots of Non-support

APRIL 17TH, 2019
8:00 TO 11:30 AM
RIVER BRIDGE REGIONAL CENTER
504 21ST ST., GLENWOOD SPRINGS

Memory Reconsolidation is the neural basis for transformational change in clients. Learn
about the steps required for effective transformational change at the neural level so clients
can move from a survival state to a thriving state. It is through the neural change of memory
reconsolidation that clients can recover from PTSD, anxiety, anger, panic, grief, minor to
major stress, depression, addiction, guilt, shame, and so much more.

Roots of Non-Support: How to Support the Non-Offending Caregiver Research
indicates the impact of the trauma, or how resilient a child is, has more to do with the
response and the support system, than with the actual type of abuse that occurred. This
training focuses on how “secrecy traumas,” often involving child maltreatment, are different
and how these traumas are more likely to result in Post-Traumatic Stress. A caregiver’s
response is critical to healing. The root causes of non-support for child sexual abuse
survivors — Disbelief, Blame and Shame — can be detrimental to recovery
