We have an exciting opportunity to partner with World Leadership School, an organization committed to creating next-generation leaders, for a Border Immersion experience this summer from June 10th through the 14th. This program is designed for students between 14 and 18 years old who are looking to expand their awareness, make new friends, learn about border issues up close, and cultivate their inner leader.
The philosophy of World Leadership School is well aligned with the Aspen Chapel, and through the curriculum, we work with, the group dynamics we build, and through powerful experiences in El Paso, students are transformed. Not only would students have a mind-expanding experience in El Paso, but they would also begin to see the Roaring Fork Valley and its inhabitants with a new perspective, opening opportunities for building bridges across all the different people we share a community with.
If you have a son or daughter or friend you think would benefit from this experience, please share far and wide! I’m hoping to take 5-10 students this year. Students will have an opportunity to educate our community upon return, based on their experience and self-growth. Interested parties may email Michelle Skagen for more information at [email protected]
To reserve your spot, there is a $250 deposit. Checks and applications will be accepted until April 12th, so we may begin meeting as a group, more formal paperwork, and medical forms, and booking flights through World Leadership School. Please spread the word, check out El Paso’s program description and pictures on worldleadershipschool.com, and reach out with ANY questions or concerns.
If you would like to help by sponsoring a student, we would welcome that help. There are a few students who are very interested but don’t have the resources for the full cost of the program. Please email me if you’d like to donate to a scholarship account for this opportunity.
